Dr. Sandra Farnham
Dr. Sandra Farnham, O.D.. F.A.A.O., F.O.V.D.R., is a devoted optometrist and core member of the Sightwork team who improves lives through specialized therapy. She boasts many years of experience in eye care and has a deep passion for helping improve patients’ lives with binocular vision and visual processing difficulties.


Education & Experience
Dr. Sandra Farnham grew up in a small town outside of Erie Pennsylvania. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mercyhurst College in Erie, she served as a cardiothoracic nurse for several years. She later received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University followed by subspecialty training in ocular disease for six months at Bascom Palm in Miami, FL.
Dr. Farnham has practiced medical optometry since 2005 and joined Advanced Family Eye Care and Sightwork Vision Therapy in Denver, NC in 2016 to focus on her passion as a behavioral optometrist. She enjoys practicing full-scope medical optometry for all ages, with a special love for patients with strabismus, amblyopia and learning disabilities along with brain injury rehabilitation for all ages.

With an understanding of her patients’ individual needs, goals, and abilities, Dr. Farnham creates customized therapy plans to help them build better vision. Creating personalized treatment sessions, she challenges and strengthens her patients’ visual skills while promoting positivity and fun! Dr. Farnham works one-on-one with her patients as they complete exercises including:
- work with prism glasses
- playing virtual reality games
- engaging in other activities that improve their vision processing and oculo-motor deficiencies.

Her involvement and accomplishments are far-reaching. She is a fellow with the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and the Piedmont Optometric Society. She is a fellow with the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association.
During her leisure time, Dr. Farnham enjoys running and spending time with her husband and three children.
